Max Speed, Distance, Altitude: Reading Your Session

Swipe once from the big number and you get the accountant's view: four cards keeping score of the drive, the ride, or the run — live, honest, and zeroed whenever you say so.

Heading (your direction in degrees) rides on the map view alongside the compass, completing the instrument set.

Reset: where a “trip” begins

The Reset button zeroes max speed and distance. That's not housekeeping — it's the feature that gives the numbers meaning: reset at the trailhead and Distance is this ride; reset before the descent and Max Speed is this run. One tap defines the experiment.

The honest fine print

  1. Stats are per-session, not a diary. There's no saved trip history or logs. When you reset (or the session ends), the numbers are gone. Want to keep a great max speed? Screenshot it; that's the record.
  2. Altitude wobbles by nature. GPS vertical accuracy is inherently 2–3× looser than horizontal: satellite geometry favors the map view of the world. Roughly right, occasionally jumpy: normal.
  3. Distance is as good as the sky view. Clean signal yields clean accumulation; a signal dropout (tunnel, garage) pauses the story. The signal badge is the disclaimer in real time.
  4. Max speed believes the GPS. A rare signal glitch can print an implausible spike — if your minivan claims 140, congratulations to the satellite that moved, not the van.

The screenshot ritual: since sessions aren't saved, end memorable ones (the century ride, the ski day, the road-trip state line) with a screenshot of the stats grid. Cheap, permanent, and it settles arguments later.
